I have been using my daughter's $150.00 FoodSaver Vauum Machine before I purchased the George Foreman Food Sealer.
The George Foreman far surpasses the FoodSaver in sealing - a smaller sealing line in the bag and not as much waste; much faster process and no having to wait for the machine to cool down (I processed over 60 bags without having to stop for cool down with the GF and then, I didn't have to cool down the machine - ran out of bags!); much, much tighter seal - draws more air out; compact machine and easy to use.
I have read some reveiews on the GF and was said that the thumbs get tired holding the top down. I just use the palms of my hands.
I really like this machine and would highly recommend it over the FoodSaver. The price is great also!
