Customer Review: You Have to Put the Pitcher In Correctly

If you put the pitcher in correctly, this works great. You have to put it in with the pouring spout facing the back and the handle facing straight out. If not, the spring doesn't trigger and you get the overflowing problem. I suspect that most of those who have mentioned the overflowing problem either have put the pitcher in incorrectly or the tea basket is not positioned and tightened correctly. It actually isn't that hard but I have forgotten once or twice and had a mess that sounds exactly like what a few people have described. But it was operator error, not the maker's fault.
I've had my iced tea maker for c. 10 years and it has been great. The other issue, of course, is to use good tea. I find Luzianne works best for me and Lipton is terrible. A long time ago I purchased a second pitcher so that I always have an extra pitcher of tea ready to go and never run out.
