Customer Review: Nifty "little" rice cooker!!

I purchased this rice cooker as a gift for a close friend. I own the same rice cooker too. I read a couple surprisingly "not so favorable" ratings by other reviewers, and I only have one thing to say - FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS!! Ok and one more thing - a little tip for all of you "would be" purchasers - Be sure to dry the rice cooker pot before you place it on the base. If you don't, the water from the pot will seep into the base, and guess what ? It will eventually stop working, or just blow up!! (That's what usually happens when electrical appliances and water mix). If you always dry the pot, then you shouldn't have any problems with the cooker itself.
You can even adjust the "dryness" of the rice. Sometimes you want the rice a little more sticky - for example, if you're going to make california rolls (sushi rolls) or if you're making porridge. Then you can add a tiny bit more water. If you're just making a pot of rice to eat with a stir fry, or you're making fried rice, just follow the directions and you'll have a great pot of rice. I cook brown rice in this rice cooker. It takes a tiny bit longer than cooking that refined & processed white rice, but brown rice is a lot better for you!
